The SDSM are in search of people to fill in positions such as deputies and ministers as predetermined in the Przhino Agreement. By the 20th of October, the Social Democrats have to propose new ministers at the Minister for Internal Affairs and the Ministry for Labour and Social Policy. These candidates have to acceptable to the other political parties who have all signed the Przhino Agreement.
SDSM will appoint deputy ministers at the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Information Society and Administration , with the power to veto.
According to our sources, SDSM while looking for an Interior Minister insists on a “new Katica Janeva” or an unexposed person, impartial, somebody who will not be party affiliated, but someone who will work with the utmost respect and professional behavior and be able to interact with the public, and most importantly to have sufficient knowledge of the security situation in the country.
It is not uncommon if the new minister is chosen from professors from the Faculty of Security and Law.
For the deputy positions in the Ministries of Labour and Social Policy, Science, Finances and Agriculture it is widely believed that there is a strong possibility that presidents of the respective party committees will be among those selected.
