VMRO-DPMNE’s party leader, Hristijan Mickoski, after SDSM announced its decision not to call snap parliamentary elections, stated that Zoran Zaev and SDSM have fled from the elections but they won’t escape the will of the people.

“SDSM is frightened and in a state of chaos. Very quickly they will face the truth of their own failure. Wherever you run Zaev, I will defeat you at any parliamentary elections, because the people will defeat you, and we shall bring back the honesty of our country, Macedonia will win,” wrote Mickoski on his Facebook profile.

VMRO-DPMNE requested that snap parliamentary elections should take place with the upcoming presidential elections in the spring.

Last night, SDSM’s Executive Board decided not to call snap parliamentary elections because the citizens expect the implementation of the reforms.

“We are already part of NATO, and we expect a date for the start of the negotiations with the European Union, as well as the start of the implementation of the necessary reforms. A responsible political party would not jeopardize this opportunity, it would not jeopardize the date of the negotiations with the EU for snap elections and to stop the reforms,” said the party’s spokesperson Kostadin Kostadinov.
