Ramadani on NATO Day: US to help us out of the crisis

-

“NATO membership requires honesty and political dialogue of our country in relation to NATO, responsible and committed leadership, making bold decisions. We need a state with greater freedom, where the rule of law and equality among our citizens would dominate,” said, among other things, Deputy Defense Minister Arben Labenishta, at today’s press conference on the occasion of 66th anniversary of the founding of NATO, i.e. NATO Day, April 4.
Press was opened by President of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia Ismet Ramadani, who also reflected on the current political crisis and in this context quoted part of the statement of the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg at the meeting with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski regarding concerns about the situation in the country.
– The current situation, after the wiretapping scandal, obliges us to ask seriousness and dedicated commitment to its resolution from the political parties. We ask the United States to reach out to us and help us get out of the crisis. Nobody has the right to jeopardize citizens’ prospect of NATO membership – said Ismet Ramadani.
At a press conference also addressed Captain Rumen Radev, Head of NATO office to Macedonia, and Sinan Ertaj, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, who reflected on the new challenges of the Alliance associated with the Ukrainian crisis and the terrorist threat in North Africa and the Middle East.
Businessman Trifun Kostovski, who is executive director of the Business Club of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia (EACM), emphasized the effect that NATO membership has to economies of member states.
