Public Prosecution: Secret workshop discovered for forging ID cards

Skopje Public Prosecution announced that they are currently dealing with the subject of counterfeit ID cards, and that that ID cards were discovered and handed over by a journalist for “Fokus”, Ljubisa Arsic, to the Interior Minister. It was then discovered that a workshop had been found where the forged documents had been made.

“In conducting this investigation with all its investigative measures, yesterday an operation successfully was conducted on the orders of the Public Prosecutor, where they found a secret workshop for counterfeiting documents. It is a voluminous amount of material, equipment and apparatus used for the manufacture of counterfeit identity cards and other counterfeit documents. All material found were confiscated and is subject to further analysis and research. For this crime, three people were detained, but there are clues that others are also involved and they are also guilty for committing other crimes, ” announced the Public Prosecution.

They said when they have more information on the matter, they will decide in the coming days what steps and measures to take.
