Professor Bobek Shuklev was arrested during police operation

University Professor and former Dean of the Faculty of Economics at UKIM ( the University of St Cyril and Methodius), Bobek Shuklev was arrested today during a police operation which was carried out at the university, say the media, citing sources from within the investigation.

According to information which for now, has yet to be confirmed by the Ministry of Interior, the operation under the code name “Erasmus” have a total of 8 suspects, however, they have only managed to detain Professor Shuklev. The police are still searching for the other suspects.

News portal “Press24” have reported that they have unofficial information that the one of the suspects is a member of the prestigious MANU, the Macedonian Academy of Science and Art.

The suspects, according to the initial information, are accused of receiving and giving bribes, illegal transactions, abuse of power and authority and other crimes related to corruption.
