Through a public statement, “Professorial plenum” informs that their request to delay the implementation of all legislative package for higher education by 2018, including the law on educational institutions for the education of teachers in preschool education, primary and secondary education was not honored at the session of Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, scheduled for today, on which a draft law amending the Law on Higher Education was submitted.
“The public is informed that “Professorial plenum” requests postponement of the implementation of the whole package of laws on higher education by 2018, as a necessary condition for starting the work on drafting new legislation. The postponement of the application of the laws is due to making a completely new set of laws to suit the conditions and needs of education in the Republic of Macedonia. Considering the repeated failed expectations from the legal and institutional prevention of harmful laws in higher education, “Professorial plenum” informs the public that it will continue with outer institutional action until the whole package of laws on higher education is put on hold until 2018. “Professorial plenum” joins “Student plenum” in declaring autonomous academic area of 11th of February 2015,” reads the statement of “Professorial plenum”.
