Union of Education, Science and Culture (SONK) announced that, after the winter break, 30,000 professors from Macedonia will begin strike. As television “Telma” reports, professors will go to work, but will not teach.
During negotiations with the relevant ministries, SONK demanded salaries of employees in schools, kindergartens and cultural institutions to be increased, the sanctions of external testing to be lifted, the electronic diary to be simplified and classic logs to be abolished.
Three months after the beginning of negotiations, SONK says that progress hasn’t been made, on account of what they decided to strike and that this time they won’t yield to pressure until their requirements are met.
