High School Plenum vs Prime Minister: Gruevski quicker at the trigger

-

One day before the public gathering that the High School Students’ Plenum is organizing in the Park of Journalists, Prime Minister Gruevski announced in Dojran that he is postponing the changes in the Law for state graduation exams, for September 2016.

In his visit of Dojran, to a question by a journalist, Gruevski reponded that there is enough time to think over and discuss the opinions regarding the law with all concerned sides.

-The postponing of the state graduation exams is because the registration for the exam is in December and we had a very short period to implement the changes that we wanted. In the interim we need to have dialog which will provide room to include all concerned sides, to talk to everyone, to hear the opinions and conduct fundamental consultations so that, in the end, we can find the most adequate solution- stated Gruevski.

We didn’t get a response from the Plenum whether they plan to carry out their public gathering or if the have a reaction to the postponing of the implementation of the changes in the law.

– The High School Students’ Plenum is returning to win the battle that we started in the previous school year. We are hoping that the Ministry will understand that we are serious and that they will begin to cooperate. To that purpose on September 1 at 6 PM, we are calling everyone to join a public gathering in the Journalists Park for alternative lectures, a panel discussion and many other activities. The speakers at the event and the full agenda are going to be announced soon. Let’s show them we are serious, that we are more coherent and brave than ever,” says in the announcement of the Plenum.

From there they say they are planning a general plenum that will outline the next activities.

Prime Minister Gruevski noted today that they will take maximal efforts to include all who are concerned by the law so that they can hear everyone’s opinion, in order to reach the best possible solutions through joint consultation.

The Student Plenum supported the previous activities by the High School Plenum. Its members will speak at the public gathering tomorrow.
