Rectangular fountain on Macedonia Square was put into use. Fountain has dimensions 20 to 10 meters and a dug reinforced concrete bed. The bed surface is made of light gray granite panels measuring 60 to 60 centimeters and a thickness of 10 centimeters.
LED lights with sockets for nozzle are set on the panels of the fountain. The fountain consists of 128 nozzles with 128 bulbs. The visual effect of the fountain will be achieved by play of the streams, and in the evening, with a lightshow as well.
Water sprayed from nozzles will dive between the plates and returned to the system. Storm water from the yard will be drained through the existing stormwater network through channels.
Apart from the new, the fountain under the monument of Warrior on horseback was also put in use.
The project for construction of surface fountain and reconstruction of the yard on the Macedonia Square was awarded to the Public enterprise for spatial and urban plans – Prilep, and crews of construction company “TRANSMET” from Skopje worked on the field. According to the announcements, this project costs about 150 million euros, of which, the City of Skopje provided one-third and Government – two thirds.
