More than 50 percent of citizens are satisfied with the work of the police, and a high percentage, 64.2 percent, trust and respect the guardians of order, the survey of public opinion about police work that is carried out by OSCE mission in this country in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior every two years.
As it was stated at today’s presentation of the report, the percentage of citizen satisfaction with the work of the police registers a steady rise. In 2008, 33.8 percent of people were satisfied with the work of the police, while this percentage was 51.5 percent in the last report. Compared with the 2012 report, it is an increase of about 2 percent.
In terms of the trust and respect of the police, there are no significant changes in comparison with 2012.
According to Nikola Spasov from agency “Rating”, which carried out the survey, what is distinctive about this, as well as for the previous surveys, is that the citizens of Albanian ethnicity were less satisfied with the work of the police.
