Poposki and Jolevski at Northern Atlantic Coucil

A Macedonian delegation, led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defense, Nikola Poposki and Zoran Jolevski  attended an annual meeting in Brussels with the North Atlantic Council at the level of ambassadors of NATO member countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The minsters spoke of results the country had achieved results in  political, economic and defense reforms in Macedonia.
Referring to the importance of an open door policy of the Alliance, among others Mr Poposki underlined that despite a record 16 cycles of implementation of the Membership Action Plan, implementation of reforms in accordance with NATO standards, exceptional contributions to Alliance missions and commitment to talks removing the last obstacle to NATO membership, Macedonia is still in a position to wait.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported that Poposki called for a consensus on the decision to soon extend an invitation to join the Alliance, highlighting our reform achievements, met standards and our substantial contribution to NATO missions.
During his stay in Brussels, Mr Poposki and Mr Jolevski met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, where opinions were exchanged on the current political situation in the country and the challenges facing the Republic of Macedonia and for successfully dealing with the refugee crisis .
