Poposki in Luxemburg: Macedonia expects to be treated like any other EU member state

Macedonian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Nikola Poposki attended a working breakfast in Luxemburg with diplomats from established EU nations, as well as nations with candidate status, to discuss the current refugee crisis engulfing Europe. Poposki said, ” Europe has to come together to resolve this issue, because a country, acting on its own, simply does not have the required resources.”

The Minister briefed the gathering on how Macedonia was coping with the recent waves of refugees pouring into Europe, he told the gathering, “The Republic of Macedonia expects to be treated like any other EU member state regarding this issue. It is essential that we all share the responsibility regarding the current situation, otherwise our solidarity and humanity will come under threat.”

The Minister attended the working breakfast session at the invitation of his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz, also present foreign affairs minister from the European People’s Party (EPP) and the Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs.
