Poposki: SDSM has to show that they’re serious about holding elections

It is encouraging that the SDSM finally realise that destructive politics is met with greater condemnation from the citizens, reacted Nikola Poposki today after the SDSM leader, Zoran Zaev’s press conference.

“It remains obvious that the party still has shown no capacity to get out of the agony they are in, and to finally start working constructively in politics, for the interest of all the people. They have left the impression that the only opposition party, keeps running away from elections, the same elections they insisted upon. And every time they have managed to avoid elections, they act as if they have won the ballot. These are classical tactics to avoid the citizens.
Regarding their requirements which Mr. Zaev outlined earlier on today – VMRO-DPMNE wants to clearly state that elections are acceptable whenever the opposition are ready, however, we will not allow the country and it’s citizens to be held hostage again and let the opposition use them as a bargaining chip for an election date, just like they did on April the 24th, and June the 5th”, said Poposki.

The Foreign Minister also added that the VMRO-DPMNE would welcome the SDSM back into Government, to work together to prepare fair, free and democratic elections, but only if they show they are serious about elections and that it’s what they really want.
