Poposki asked for a joint session of the governments of Macedonia and Albania

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia Nikola Poposki sent an invitation through his counterpart in the Republic of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, for scheduling a joint session of the governments of the two countries in the first half of 2015, announced Macedonian MFA. It was agreed to start the preparations at the level of political directors and with setting a time frame for the session.

Minister Poposki yesterday paid a visit to Republic of Albania at the invitation of his Albanian counterpart, on which he also met President of the Republic of Albania Bujar Nishani and Prime Minister Edi Rama.

During the talks, the good bilateral relations between the Republic of Macedonia and Albania were confirmed. It was jointly determined that the two countries share the same interests of foreign policy in terms of European and regional cooperation.

Ministers agreed that political cooperation was excellent and expressed their hope that it would spread to the economy sector with equal intensity. It was also determined that this can be achieved through the implementation of specific projects in infrastructural connection, road and rail network and energy. It will stimulate trade and increase investing interest. Specific solutions in this direction is the completion of Corridor 8 and 24-hour opening of the crossing Dzepishte – Trebishte.
