Macedonia, Serbia, Austria and Hungary Memorandum On Refugee Crisis

Macedonian Interior Minister Mitko Chavkov, at today’s Conference in Ohrid, dedicated to the migrant crisis. said   “As a country, we have been left alone to deal with a situation that has arisen which is not of our making, and is in fact, caused partly by sharing a border with a Member State of the European Union.” Minister Chavkov went on, adding “what is urgently needed is a successful long-term solution is required for the present situation, it must be an international synchronized effort, undertaken by all the concerned countries in the region.” Also in attendance at today’s Conference, Government Ministers from Austria and Serbia, Johanna Michael-Leitner, and Nebojsa Stefanovic, Hungary was represented by Krisztina Berta, her country’s Interior Minister, all present signed the Memorandum of Understanding, which Minister Mitko Chavkov summed up as being “dedicated to taking the steps necessary for withstanding the extraordinary pressure that mixed migration has caused in our countries.”
