Plomp: The next step will be forming a government as soon as possible

-

I think first of all the democratic process now has to move forward. It is positive that finally the Parliament managed to constitute itself and managed to elect a speaker, which was clearly recognized by the EU and the USA. I think now the next step is that the Government should be formed and the sooner the better to move the country forward., said the Ambassador of Netherlands in Macedonia, Wouter Plomp for “Alsat – M”.

“I very much hope that the national interest of Macedonia will prevail over personal and party interests. And finally, I think that Parliament is the very place where divergent opinions should meet each other and should produce a healthy debate that can move the country forward, which is something I would very much be looking forward.” Also said Plomp.

The Dutch Ambassador said that he was shocked when he heard what was happening at the parliament on Thursday evening.

He also said that the next step would be “full investigation and prosecution of those who committed these very serious crimes as well as possibly those who facilitated it or did not enough to stop it from happening.

“ I think that is a normal course of action in any country whether it is EU member country or a country outside the EU, but I would say it definitely is important for a country that aspires to become a member state of the EU,” said Plomp.
