Plomp announces expert assistance from the Netherlands for Macedonia

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev today met with the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Wouter Plomp, who expressed support for the policies leading to Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia.

“I expect a majority of people to vote for a Euro-Atlantic future for the Republic of Macedonia in the upcoming referendum”, Prime Minister Zaev said, the government’s press service reported..

At the meeting, as stated in the press release, it was concluded that it is of great importance that every person and political subject should take into account their personal responsibility for the historical moment that opens economic and security perspectives for our country and the people of the Republic of Macedonia.

“The conversation expressed the expectation that Macedonia will continue with the reform processes, especially in the area of the judiciary, which will contribute to the Euro-integration process. The Dutch Ambassador on this particular issue has announced the availability of expert assistance from the Netherlands for Macedonia. The expectation is that Macedonia will soon become the 30th NATO member state”, the statement said.

Zaev, as reported in the statement, thanked Ambassador for the principled support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the democratic system in the Republic of Macedonia, including supporting a principled position on the current political process important for Macedonia’s EU and NATO membership”.
