Plenary session to be held on the 1st of December regarding the draft amendments for making changes at the constitution

The session regarding the draft-amendments for changing the constitution in accordance to the Prespa Agreement, that was announced by the government today, will take place on the 1st of December.

On Wednesday, the 7th of November, the draft amendments will be sent to the Commission for Constitutional Affairs. According to the Rule Book, the hearing within the commission can last mostly up to 3 working days for the text of the draft for each amendment separately.

At a plenary session at the Parliament with an absolute majority of MPs i.e. 61, is determining the draft of each amendment of the Constitution separately.

What follows is a public discussion about the draft amendments, after which the amendments for the draft amendments are lodged for which there will have to be a discussion by two commissions. As soon as the Parliament states its opinion with an absolute majority of 61 MP for each of the amendments for the constitutional amendments, a session will be called for the change of the Consitution for which a two-third majority will be necessary and that will be the final phase for a changed Constitution.
