The civil initiative “Arsena” has started a civil petition for decreasing the price for the water in the Gevegelija’s water supplies on the level of technical water i.e. with the price of 5 denars per cubic meter.
The association said that the reason for the petition is due to several years of ignorance on part of the local authorities and the public enterprise “Komunalec” from Gevgelija to face with the problem with the high concentrations of poisonous metalloid arsenic in the city’s water supplies system and the prohibition for the use of the water by the state Agency for Food and Veterinary.
The association and the citizens demand that the price of the water should be decreased until the moment when a clean, healthy and safe water for drinking for the citizens of the municipality of Gevgelija is provided.
