President Stevo Pendarovski has signed the decree for the Law of social protection, the Law of social security for older persons and the Law for changing and complementing the Law for protection of children, informs the president’s cabinet.
The cabinet stated that the implementation of the three laws is of major interest for the citizens especially for those of the vulnerable categories and are aimed at providing social justice and safety.
“The Law for social justice is aimed at improving the rights and it will allow better conditions for the persons with disabilities. The benefits for a salary for a shortened working time for a parent that is in custody of a child with disabilities will be increased and will be up to 50% of the average net salary. The Law of social security for elderly persons will increase the effectiveness of monetary giving for this category of citizens and a decrease in the percentage of poverty among elderly persons over 65 years. The changing and the complementing of the Law for protection of children increases the access to the right to children allowances for households and families with lower incomes and to those who receive a guaranteed minimal help. The children allowance will be used by 73.500 children instead of 3.200 as previously, while the education allowance will be used by 64.316 children instead of 3.800” states the press release.
