Parties submitted 103 complaints to the SEC concerning the second round of local elections

-

Political parties submitted 103 complaints to the State Election Commission for the second round of the local elections, SEC spokesperson Ljupka Guguchevska told “Meta”.

The most complaints have been filed by Besa – even 89. The Alliance for Albanians filed 13 complaints and one complaint was filed by NDM.

The SEC has a 48 hour deadline to respond to the complaints.

“Complaints have to be processed, and then the SEC will schedule a session where they will review the complaints and the members of the commission will decide on them”, said Guguchevska.

Emat Mehmeti from Besa, while submitting the complaints, pointed out that there had been alot of invalid ballots and various irregularities.

“We could see everywhere that we had no elections, just stealing. Due to the large number of invalid ballots we have serious doubts that these ballots were manipulated. Therefore, the majority of complaints are related to this. We also call on the international community to listen to these complaints, because we will not allow our rights to be violated. We do not want to look for our rights on the streets”, said Mehmeti.

After the SEC have made their decisions, the parties will have a deadline of 24 hours to file lawsuits to the Administrative Court, which, in turn, should decide upon the lawsuits within 48 hours.
