Today during the plenary session MP’s will have to approve the decision of Parliament to announce the selection of the new members of the State Election Commission.
The members of the State Election Commission, under the new Electoral Code have to be chosen according to the new regulations which is three members from the Government, three from the opposition and three experts.
All interested candidates should include in their CV, a brief personal history, necessary documents which have to certified copies and should be submitted no longer than eight days from the publication of the decision.
The Decision of the Assembly will be published in the Official Gazette and in the daily newspapers “Vecer,” “Dnevnik” and “Lajm”.
SEC members proposed by political parties must be:
Macedonian nationals with permanent residence;
University graduates with at least five years work experience;
They can not be members of any Political Parties;
SEC members who are not elected through the proposal of a political parties must be:
Macedonian nationals with permanent residence;
Have completed higher education with a minimum of five years work experience;
They can not be members of an political party at least in the past 2 years;
They can not have been a candidate for public office in the state or local government;
Applicants can not be public supporters of policies of the government or opposition;
To have expertise and experience in the field of elections and electoral processes.
