Parliament voted in ministers from the SDSM into the interim government

-

MPs in Parliament today voted in two ministers from the SDSM into the interim government, which was stipulated by the Pržino Agreement. Oliver Spasovski, who will be the Minister of Interior, and Frosina Remenski, who will be the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, 95 MPs voted “for”, while 2 voted “against”.

When the Prime Minister, Emil Dimitriev proposed the new ministers, he said that it was high time that the elections took place, and that all of the government and all of its members will help organize the elections, so later, no-one will be able to contest them.

Dimitriev also said that in these 100 days, the implementation of the government’s program must not be forgotten, and he expects the new ministers, deputy ministers and additional deputy ministers to cooperate in a correct manner, not like “the first time round”.

“I believe that the political crisis in Macedonia is coming to an end, and the the elections will help us overcome this crisis”, said Dimitriev.

The Coordinator from the parliamentary group, the SDSM, Goran Sugareski, said that the ruling party for the past few weeks said that everything they do is for elections, however, for all this time they were searching for a way to prevent them.

“The ambition of our ministers and deputy ministers is not to participate in the work of the VMRO-DPMNE, but to do everything for Macedonia to provide the minimum requirements to conduct fair and democratic elections. I guarantee that on the elections on December the 11th, there will be elections, and Macedonia will win those elections, not Gruevski”, said Sugareski.

Ilija Dimovski, the Coordinator of the parliamentary group, the VMRO-DPMNE, said that as politicians, they can help overcome this crisis because those who suffer are the citizens and the country’s economy.

“We’re dealing with people full of uncertainty and insecure politicians and that is why we should do everything we can to prevent this political crisis developing any further, and to put a stop to the suffering of the citizens”, said Dimovski.

Rosa Topuzovska-Karevska, an independent MP said that the agreement which was signed by the four leaders violated Article 7 of the Constitution because it was signed only in English, and not the official language of the Republic.

According to her, not one condition or requirement was met for free and fair elections, and she does not believe that on December 11, the country will have fair elections.

Parliament today approved the additional deputy ministers from the SDSM, Kire Naumov, Ljupco Nikolovski and Aleksander Kiracovski.
