EU Summit cancelled – chances of Greece’s salvation are slim

-

President of the European Council Donald Tusk today announced that the EU Summit, which was to be held tonight because of the Greek crisis, was cancelled and representatives of the 19 member states of the Eurozone continue to negotiate a financial bailout of Greece.

Previously, EC Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis said that the Commission assessed that “the prospects are quite slim” that a third financial rescue plan for Greece, which faces exiting the Eurozone, to be approved.

“The meeting of European top officials is canceled, and the Eurozone Summit will start at 4 pm and will last as long as the negotiations with Greece are completed,” Tusk posted on Twitter.
