USAID’s support has a high impact on the development of Macedonia, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani said at the meeting with USAID’s new current representative in the country, David Atteberry.

According to his office, Osmani presented Atteberry the competence and the political agenda of the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA), pointing out that the current focus of Government and the SEA is in supporting the reform process through the “3-6-9 ” IPA Master Plan for IPA.

In person, Atteberry presented Osmani USAID’s portfolio with all areas and concrete projects which has been implementing in Macedonia, and he emphasized that USAID “fully supports the Macedonian Government for the improvement of the processes for Euro-Atlantic Integration”.

“Atteberry stressed that USAID has been a partner of the Republic of Macedonia in the last 25 years, and the three main areas where USAID is acting upon are democracy and governance, economic growth and education, and many projects are on-going”, it was said in the statement.

At the end of the meeting, both emphasized the interest for both sides for intensive cooperation, regarding the USAID development strategy for Macedonia, which should be completed by the end of 2017, and they agreed on regular coordination and exchange of experiences in areas where USAID can give the necessary support to the country.
