Prime Minister Zoran Zaev received a letter from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulating him on the agreement regarding the Macedonian-Greek name dispute and for reaching a strategic partnership between the two countries, reported the government’s press service.
The letter, which Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán signed on behalf of the Visegrád Four, welcomes the solution that the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Greece reached regarding the name issue.
“The Hungarian Government continuously, through all forums, advocates for the acceleration of Euro-Atlantic integration of the whole region of the Western Balkans, as well as for the Republic of Macedonia. Hungary has supported the adoption of a resolution of the European Union that enables the start of EU accession negotiations with the Republic of Macedonia”, reads the letter.
Also in the letter, Orbán says that Hungary supports the invitation for membership that Macedonia received from NATO on July 11th.
