SDSM started the preparations for the gathering, which, according to initial information, is to be held on 9th of May. Something can only be changed by negotiations with VMRO-DPMNE taking place in Brussels. Unofficially, the party said that if the gathering, depending on the event, is postponed, it will take place on 16th of May at the earliest.
However, according to SDSM spokesman Petre Shilegov, it is official that SDSM continuously spreads the truth about Macedonia throughout the cities.
“You will be duly informed when and whether a gathering in Skopje would be held,” is Shilegov’s answer to the question whether and when SDSM and the opposition would hold a mass protest in Skopje.
The other opposition parties, such as LDP, NSDP and LP, are also preparing for the mass protest.
– We are part of the opposition and, of course, we will take part in all the things that the opposition prepares. We firmly stand behind our opposition stance and want this government to resign as soon as possible – said Filip Janevik, spokesman of LDP.
Secretary General of the party said that membership of LDP is being mobilized for the all-national gathering that is to be held in Skopje in May.
– We contact all members and supporters of the party in all settlements – says Kukoski.
According to NSDP president Tito Petkovski, there is no doubt that we need to get out on the street.
– Municipal organizations and members are unanimous that the government does not respond to all crimes made public. The only way for it to go is by continued protests. We are currently determining the strategy, but the exact date has not yet been established – said Petkovski.
LP president Ivon Velichkovski also claims that are currently in contact with all the opposition parties on “understanding the situation and building position on the next steps.”
VMRO-NP informed that they have not received an invitation for protest from SDSM.
– So far we have not had any contact with SDSM. If we get an invitation, the potential participation is to be decided by the bodies of the party – said Ljupcho Balkovski, Secretary General of VMRO-NP.
