The prosecution asks to be left alone

-

Via statement, Public Prosecution today responded to, as they say, pressures and emphasized calls for definitive answers about the scandal “Wiretapping” and case “Puch”, as well as calls for personal and collective responsibility.

“Considering that such attacks violate the independent operation of public prosecutors as responsible for the prosecution of perpetrators of crimes, we inform the public that neither the Public Prosecutor’s Office as an institution, or any public prosecutor will not allow themselves to be involved in intrigues, nor will allow persons involved in the developments to wage war through them, regardless of the reasons and motives for which it is done,” reads the statement.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office states that the investigation of the subjects requires taking action, attention, dedication and time.

“Competent prosecutors in the public prosecution offices that deal with such cases cannot come up with an opinion or statement before the final determination of all factual and legal issues associated with the given event,” say representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Regarding published videos, for which is “commented that supposedly derive from the application of special investigative measures, competent prosecutors issued orders to the competent authorities to take measures and actions in order to conduct checks and collect information if it is a part of investigative measures or are other materials, on who, when and how published the materials,” reads the statement, adding that: “The competent institutions got an order to remove the videos and to prevent their further publication. Also, active actions for materials relating to alleged wiretapped conversations published by SDSM are taken.”

According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, it is frivolous for competent prosecutions to provide unreliable information, thus supporting speculation and, as they say, “to take sides.”
