The Ministry of Interior marked the 7th of May, the Day of the Macedonian police within MoI’s premises.
At the celebration were present the Minister of Interior, Agim Nuhiu, the directors of the Public Security Bureau(PSB) and the Administration of Security and Counterintelligence (UBK), Mitko Chavkov and Vladimir Atanasovski and other MoI’s high ranking officials including relatives of fallen policemen – defenders in the 2001 conflict.
Minister Nuhiu said that the major reforms in the police will have to continue and that it should be brought to the parameters set by international standards.
-We shall strive for the police to be put sooner in the service of all citizens and the state – said Nuhiu.
Nuhiu’s speech wasn’t applauded by the director of PSB, Mitko Chavkov, and Nuhiu laid down flowers at the monument of fallen policemen, and Chavkov together with the Director of UBK, Atanaskovski and the MoI’s state secretary, Sanja Dimitrievska, also laid down flowers at the monument of the fallen defenders from the conflict in 2001.
After laying down the flowers, Chavkov and Atanasovski didn’t return at the rest of the celebration.
