NMacedonia’s Health Minister proposes shorter curfew, informs on first case of the Indian strain

North Macedonia’s Health Minister Venko Filipche today formally submitted to the Main Coordinating Crisis Headquarters the proposal of the Infectious Diseases Commission that the curfew and the measures against COVID-19 stay in power until the 15th of June nationwide, announced the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry also informed that last week a patient that has beens hospitalized in a private hospital was detected to be infected with the Indian variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. According to the clinic’s epidemiological poll, the patient returned Iraq, where he has been sick for the past 10 days and was hospitalized. Upon returning to Macedonia, he was transported with a sanitary vehicle to the hospital.

“The patient’s condition is stable and he is not posing any risk,” stated the Ministry.
