The annual inflation in the country in July 2022 rose to 16%, while the Consumer Price Index in the period from June to July 2022 increased by 1.9%, show the data of the State Statistical Office of North Macedonia.
The Retail Price Index increased by 14% in July 2022 compared to the same month last year. Retail prices jumped 2.5% last month compared with June.
The biggest increase in the costs of living in July 2022, compared to the previous month, was for the bread and cereals by 4.8%, cheese and cottage cheese by 4.5%, milk by 3.6%, fresh and chilled fruit by 2.9%, wine by 2.5% and meat by 1.8%.
In July 2022, the Consumer Price Index also jumped in the air passenger transport by 36.5%, tourist arrangements by 11.3%, electricity by 9.9%, household appliances repairs by 8.8% and accommodation services by 5.9%.
On the other hand, a decrease in the Consumer Price Index in July 2022 was registered in the current rents paid by tenants by 2.7%, other medical products by 1.7%, other education by 1.1% and motor vehicles by 0.9%.
