New “secret services” (NSA) will inform the public through its website

-

The new “secret service”, the National Security Agency, will have a website to inform the public, proposes a bill for this government body that is currently in parliamentary procedure.

The National Security Agency, an independent government agency, is expected to replace the current Security and Counter-Intelligence Directorate, which is part of the Ministry of Interior, within the framework of the reform of the intelligence security system.

Leading figures from the MOI, however, emphasize that by separating counter-intelligence, anti-terrorism and the protection of the constitutional order in a separate body and by abolishing the police powers of the counter-intelligence, will abolish the “secret police”.

The new law has a short, special chapter on the transparency of the Agency’s operations.

Article 64, “Informing and communicating with the public”, stipulates that the Agency will have its own website, on which it will publish “relevant regulations of the importance of the work, organizational structure of the Agency, and an annual work report”. The Agency will publish surveys and brochures from the scope of its work and public job advertisements on its website.

“The Agency can inform the public about certain security occurrences and cases”, sates paragraph 2 of the article.

The law stipulates the manner in which the Agency will inform and communicate with the public, will be regulated by a bylaw.
