The newly appointed Minister of Interior Nakje Chulev has appointed 12 directors at MOI including additional deputy directors. Among the general public there were negative reactions regarding the appointment of Risto Stavrevski as the representative of SVR SKopje, which caused rifts between the technical minister Chulev and the additional deputy minister SLavjanka Petrovska. Risto Stavrevski was a witness in SJO’s case “Tank” for which the former Minister Gordana Jankulovska was found guilty.
The additional Deputy Minister Slavjanka Petrovska stated that she has no intention to sign in the proposed candidate for a director of the police in Skopje. Despite this, the MOI’s official press release states that Risto Stavrevski was already appointed as director of the police in Skopje, instead of Toni Jakimovski who was appointed as an additional deputy superintendent.
The name of Risto Stavrevski was mention in the “Titanic” case trial during which the SMS messages sent to him and Kiril Todorovski by the former Minister Jankulovska were read aloud. They were suspected of taking activities for party goals that are out of MOI’s authorizations. Also, Stavrevski was president of the Committee for Public Procurement through which the Mercedes worth 600.000 euros was acquired.
Apart from this candidate proposed by the new Minister Chulev, so far, there aren’t any disputable names both for the ruling party and the opposition. New superintendents were appointed in the cities of Bitola, Stip, Ohrid Veles, Strumica and Prilep.
