Criminal charges against Janko Ilkovski and Milenko Nedelkovski were filed by Coalition for sexual and health rights of marginalized communities. The charges were submitted for spreading hatred speech, inciting violence and discrimination against members of the LGBT community, reported “Nova”.
-This is not an isolated case in which these two journalists, through their homophobic speech, caused directly violence against LGBT community, but already we have collected sufficient evidence against them. This is a trend – says Dragana Drndarovska from the Coalition for sexual and health rights of marginalized communities.
Nedelkovski said that he doesn’t have a comment for “Nova”. “I’ll see you in court, and I’ll state my opinion there,” he said.
Representatives of the Coalition say that if Prosecution conceals this application, after the expiration of the deadline, they will turn to Higher Public Prosecutor, and even further, to the European Court of Human Rights.
Discrimination on any grounds is prohibited in the Criminal Code.
