-

Teachers and professors from several primary and secondary schools in Macedonia today protested in front of the Ministry of Education and Science against the new educational reforms.
During the protest, the teachers and professors expressed their dissatisfaction and asked to be invited to the debate on the new amendments. They, also, asked MES to stop the enforcement of Law on Teachers, Law on Academy and the Law on Primary and secondary education, and to abolish the penalties and rewards for teachers/professors awarded on the basis of results of external testing.
Teachers also asked educational inspectors to work on the field and not allow the existence of classes with more than 24 students. They also request the abolition of state graduation and in its place to introduce the university entrance exam, and assessments by external testing not to affect student overall success. They also expressed their dissatisfaction about the last agreement between MES and SONK.
Meanwhile, Professorial plenum announced that it unreservedly supports Teachers plenum and protests organized against the new legislation.
