About 19,000 French websites were attacked after the terrorist attacks in Paris, said a representative of the Department of cyber defense, Arnaud Coustilliere.

Much of cyberattacks were done by “smaller or larger organized groups”, including well-known Islamic hacking group.

Coustilliere said that the attacked websites are of various sectors – from military websites for recruitment to websites of pizza huts.

French President Francois Hollande today said that any anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic acts must be “severely punished” and also appealed to calming the religious tension in the country which started after the bloody attacks.
