Najcevska resigns from the Council for reform in the justice sector

-

Professor Mirjana Najcevska resigned her membership at the Council for reform in the justice sector. She has informed the Minister of Justice and the members of the Council.

“This past period has clearly demonstrated that this body was formed formed only as a screen as the solutions are being brought elsewhere and it serves to create a false picture that some expert team has an impact on the reform processes in the judiciary. In fact, this body does not have access to any information, it has no part in any reform decisions and does not participate in the analysis of the laws that are changing. I, as an independent expert and as a university professor, I do not intend to serve to deceive citizens and I do not allow my name to be used in political changes which are called legal”, Najchevska says in the announcement of her Facebook profile.

She also added that she did not see the legal texts that entered into parliamentary procedure or it’ sannounced that they will be placed on the agenda of Parliament, such as the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Criminal Procedure Code, the Law on Police, the Law on Enforcement, Law on Execution of Sanctions, Law on Public Prosecution, and the Law on Courts.

Earlier, Professor Gordan Kalajdziev submitted his resignation to the Council for the reform of the judicial sector.
