More than 4,000 refugees have entered Slovenia after Hungary closed its border

Thousands of migrants in the past day and night, entered Slovenia at night between Friday and Saturday because Hungarian authorities closed their border with Croatia to stop the flow of refugees into their territory.

The Refugee agency of the United Nations (UNHCR), stated that from Croatia approximately 4,000 migrants entered Slovenia. Most of them intend to continue their way to Austria and to Germany.

Yesterday, Slovenian authorities decided to include the military to assist the police in handling the wave of refugees.

Prime Minister Miro Cerar said that Slovenia will continue to accept migrants until the borders of Austria and Germany remain open and continue to welcome refugees.
