Thousands celebrated at minus 10 degrees Celsius at the Ohrid square

Several thousand Ohrid citizens and guests from the Balkan countries welcomed the new 2015 outdoors at -10 ° C, at the square St. Kliment Ohridski.

With song and heated brandy from nearby cafes, the party lasted well into the night and finished with impressive fireworks over Ohrid Lake.

The present at the square partied with the performer of folk music from Ohrid Peter Nechovski, the band “Chameleon” and Vlado Janevski.

Mayor of Ohrid Nikola Bakracheski addressed the present and wished them a Happy New Year.

Several thousand guests from Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Albania, Romania, Kosovo, Greece and other countries filled Ohrid for the New Year celebration.

Today, the city’s temperature was above 0 degrees Celsius, which was the reason yesterday’s empty walkways, old bazaar and cafes to be filled with people.
