“Most”: No conditions for fair elections on April 24

-

There are no conditions for fair elections on April 24 of this year, said today at a press conference the Chairman of the civic association “Most”, who were presented with the report of the monitoring of the pre-election period from November 1 to December 31 last year.
“ If there were delays in January with the process of cleansing the voter lists, that would be a 50 day delay, but now there is a delay of 87 days. The methodology for cleansing the voters’ list has a several stages and all have started late”, stated Aleksov.

According to the civic association “Most” in at least four municipalities administrative employees received instructions on how to prepare lists for potential voters for VMRO-DPMNE.
“We want to point out that this practice constitutes a violation of Article 160 of the Criminal Code (CC), the violation of the freedom of voters. Furthermore, in the three municipalities it was reported that pressure was being put on municipal administrators to attend party rallies. Also, there have been three cases of VMRO-DPMNE carrying out surveys of pensioners, and in another case someone reported  a list which had names of pensioners bearing the logo from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs”, said Aleksov.
