In the following days, the Ministry of Interior, during the Easter holidays will strengthen security measures throughout the country, due to the global terrorist threats from the Islamic State (ISIS), who are also targeting Balkan countries, including Macedonia, said this afternoon the MOI.
“Given the global terrorist threat, who target religious buildings (like the recent attacks in Egypt), have been targeting Balkan countries, as well as the Republic of Macedonia, including mass gathering of citizens, particularly by the terrorist group ISIS, the MOI will strengthen security measures and activities in the upcoming days throughout the whole country”, reads the statement from the Ministry of Interior.
They added that to ensure calm and smooth Easter holidays, the MOI will take “a variety of security measures and activities in accordance with operational work plans, in order to protect public order and peace, and the security of buildings and the citizens.”
