Regarding the attack on Parliament, where several MPs were injured, the MOI submitted to the case over to the Public Prosecution who have filed 15 criminal charges relating to several members of the crime who participated in the crowd. The Minister of Interior reports that five of the identified have already been detained into custody.
“After reviewing the video footage, operational measures have been taken, and the identification of the mentioned above, plus 5 more have been detained into custody. Besides this, the Ministry of Interior have submitted to the Public Prosecutor’s Office a separate notice for the protest organisers, concerning eventual further actions by the prosecution about the complete cleanup of the events”, informed the Interior Ministry.
According to the statement by the Ministry, after the perpetrators breached the police cordon that was set up outside Parliament, they entered the Parliament building, where they damaged the hallway and then physically attacked three police officers who were providing security from inside. They proceeded to enter into the press centre and physically assaulted present MPs from SDSM, DUI and the Albanian Alliance.
