Today’s protest against police brutality in Skopje also ended peacefully

-

Today’s protests against police brutality in Skopje also ended peacefully and without violence. The protesters slowly began to withdraw from in front of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, where they completed their today’s route from the Government, through the Public Prosecution.

Five provocateurs appeared on the protest outside the Assembly tonight as well, but protesters booed them and they withdrew.

The protest started in front of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, but because of police blockades of streets, protesters were unable to access it.

Protesters called on the police to take down their Kevlar and weapons and join them in the fight for freedom of the country. After failing to reach the government, they headed to the Public Prosecution, where, according to the announcements, charges against the police for violating the right to free movement should have been filed.

The police blocked the approach to Prosecution and citizens who were stopped at the Archaeological Museum of Macedonia peacefully marched towards the Assembly.

Similar protests were held in Prilep and Strumica today.
