Under the motto “Let’s preserve Maleshevo for the future generations!”, the Ministry of Environment of North Macedonia together with the Macedonian Ecological Society (MES), the public entreprise “National Forests” and the municipalities of Berovo and Pehchevo, have started a campaign for declaring the Maleshevo a protected area. The campaign will take place in the next 10 days and will consist of video promotions, illustrations, and other promotional content and in the end, there will be a public debate.
“The Maleshevo Region that is encompassing the Berovo and Pehchevo municipalities, represents an area that is characterized by its natural and cultural heritage, where the forestry is a longstanding tradition. Maleshevo is an area where nature is full of wonders and natural richness that are breathtaking. It is full of pine, oak, and beech forests, a variety of flowers and medicinal herbs, plenty of animal species, traditions, food. Maleshevo has indeed met all the conditions to become a protected area,” the Ministry pinpoints.
