Land on Skopje Kale Fortress is advertised for sale with a starting price of 100 euros per square meter for building a facility in the Baroque or Neoclassical style, stated Mayor of the Municipality of Centar Andrej Zhernovski at today’s press conference.
– Government sells something that it’s not its private property – said Zhernovski.
Zhernovski says that a year has passed since the Municipality of Centar asked the ownership of the parcel between the arena “Philip II” to be returned to it, which the Ministry of Transport and Communications sold for 40 euros per square meter. According to Zhernovski, from initial 2,420 denars per square meter, the price of the land by auction increased by only 220 denars.
Ministry of Transport and Communications reacted to Zhernovski’s press conference. They say that the claims of Zhernovski are just a manipulation and audacious attempt to distort the transparency of the sale procedure. All interested domestic and foreign natural and legal entities were entitled to participate at the auction and there was an application for participation by only one legal entity, “SIS Balkans” LLC Skopje, whose founders are Sergey Borisovich Samsonenko and Irina Vladimirovna Samsonenko.
“The achieved price of the public bidding is 2,420 denars per square meter, i.e. the total area of the building parcel was worth 34.122 million denars or more than half a million euros, of which 40 percent will end up in the budget of the Municipality of Centar, 40 percent in the budget of City of Skopje and 20 percent in the budget of the Republic of Macedonia, so Centar will receive an income from more than 220,000 euros, ” reads the response of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
