Mijalkov is withdrawing from all his VMRO-DPMNE party functions

-

The former director of the Administration of Security and Counterintelligence (UBK) Saso Mijalkov, today via a statement from the VMRO-DPMNE communication centre, said that he will be withdrawing from his political activities.

“In order to complete the ongoing court proceedings, in which I personally believe the truth will be proved, I have made a personal decision to withdraw from all party functions. Throughout my entire working and personal life, with my opportunities, strengths and knowledge, I built myself into the party, respecting and trusting in its orientation and idea and have advocated for consistency and dedication”, says the statement.

Mijalkov said that his professional efforts for Macedonia during his work and time in state institutions will be even more valorized and verified over a historical distance.

“I will continue to support the values of the party strongly, which all of our members believe, the cause of the historical VMRO and the vision for a prosperous Macedonia, an advanced and modern member of the EU and NATO”, reads the statement.

Mijalkov has been a member of VMRO-DPMNE’s Executive Committee. On the other hand, he is one of the main suspects in the “Treasury” case, where Israeli wiretapping equipment was procured through an offshore company called “Finzi”. In the “Target” case, he is suspected of ordering mass illegal wiretapping. In the “Torture” case, he is the prime suspect in ordering the inhumane arrest and exploitation of the leader of the United for Macedonia party, Ljube Boshkovski.
