The president of the biggest opposition party announced today in front of the Parliament that VMRO-DPMNE’s MP group will not be taking part in its work until “the government’s political prosecution against its opponents stops” and until the people taken into detention aren’t released.
-In Macedonia, at the moment, there isn’t any democratic ambient that would contribute to a normal working of the Parliament. 12% of VMRO-DPMNE’s lawmakers and the 5%of the total number of MPs is in detention under false allegations of terrorism – said Mickoski.
He repeated the statements issued by the ombudsman that during the detention of the MPs on the 28th of November last year, the MPs right to immunity was violated with the illegal arrests of MPs.
Mickoski said that the government is responsible and that it has to choose between the reforms and the prosperity and the persecutions of those that think differently.
