Mickoski: Dialogue should be based on principles

-

The European Union and NATO must become achievable goals, and membership there, a result of hard work, not at protocol meetings and dangerous improvisations, said the main opposition leader, Hristijan Mickoski, in his New Year address. He said that political dialogue is necessary on a principled basis, in order to provide a better life for the citizens.

“Dialogue is a two-way process. In dialogue, it is necessary to have understanding and support based on principles. Of course, there are things for which, as a party, we will assess that it is worth supporting and for which we are convinced that they are in the interest of the citizens. To have dialogue, there must be freedom to express critical thought. To have freedom, political pressure and vengeance must be put an end to. The persecution gives rise to the desire for revenge, and that is a returning just like a boomerang. Ruling with fear is a one-way street. We must not become hostage to hatred and persecution “, said Mickoski.

In his address, he stressed that citizens have failed expectations that key government promises for a better life are not being met and have a social, economic and political standstill.

“Macedonia can and should do better. Macedonia must move forward. Follow me this New Year, it will be a year of new hopes, and a year when citizens will recognize the real energy that can make a better future for all. VMRO-DPMNE will also make internal changes. VMRO-DPMNE will return stronger than before “,said Mickovski.
