MFA summons Serbian Ambassador to explain the presence of Serbian intelligence officer during the violence in Parliament

-

Today, the Serbian Ambassador, Dušanka Divjak-Tomić was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the presence of a counselor employed at the Serbian Embassy, Goran Živaljević in the Parliament building during the violent events.

The ambassador refused to comment, but the Foreign Ministry stated that at the meeting, they expressed their dissatisfaction and concern about the unauthorized presence of an accredited Serbian diplomat in the Macedonian Parliament during the violent events of April the 27th.

The MFA requested a detailed explanation of the “reasons and circumstances of the presence of Živaljević”.

“It was pointed out that this kind of activity by the individual in question does not contribute to enhancing mutual trust and promoting good neighborly relations and cooperation, which the two countries are committed to”, said the statement.

The Foreign Ministry announced that the ambassador had reaffirmed commitment to further develop and promote cooperation and good neighborly relations between the two countries.
