Major-General Metodija Velickovski is the new head of the general headquarters of the Army of Republic of Macedonia. Major-General Velickovski will succeed General Gorancho Koteski.
The country’s President and Commander in Chief George Ivanov, has given his confirmation to the naming of a new Head of the general headquarters, after Koteski was dismissed from the function. Gorancho Koteski was filling that role for a year past an expired mandate.
NovaTV reports speculations that Metodija Velickovski is a compromise in the conflict of interest because the President and the party in power had different favorites that they wanted to promote to that function.
